destroyed or injured by fire in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Baltimore county, passed January session,
1867, chapter 234.

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Baltimore
county delegation.

Also,

Returned the following House bill, endorsed " Passed by
yeas and nays:"

A bill entitled an Act authorizing the Commisioners ap-
pointed under the Act of 1840, chapter 215, and its several
supplements, to invest certain money remaining in their
hands.

Also, delivered the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

February 21, 1868.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a joint committee, consisting of three members of
the House and two members of the Senate, to take into con-
sideration the message of the Executive, communicating the
facts in connection with the recent action of the U. S. Senate
upon the application for admission to that body by the Hon.
P. F. Thomas, Senator elect from this State, and respectfully
decline to concur therein ; a similar communication having
been received by the Senate from the Executive and referred to
the Standing Committee of this body upon Federal Rela-
tions.

Secretary.

The bill entitled an Act to amend and continue in force an
Act entitled an Act to incorporate the North Branch Com-
pany, passed at the session of this General Assembly, began
and held on the 5th day of January, 1853, chapter 108,

Was referred to the Committee on Corporations.

Mr. Brown (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
