Mr. Legg presented a petition to compel the weighing of
grain as well as the measurement of the same when taking it
in by captains or owners of vessels.

Which was read and referred to the Queen Anne's and
Caroline delegations.

Mr. Mearna presented the petition of J. Whitaker, Jr., Dr.
J. J. Buckley and 188 other citizens of the village of North
East and vicinity, in Cecil county, praying the passage of an
Act to repeal the 134th and 135th sections of Article 8, of the
Public Local Laws, title " Cecil county," sub-title " North
East," and to substitute the following sections in lieu thereof.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil delegation.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, presented a petition against
the repeal of the special license law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Robb presented the petition of the Mayor of Baltimore
city, and President and Board of Commissioners of Washing-
ton county, in regard to mortgage bonds of the Western Mary-
land Rail Road Company.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city and
Washington county delegations.

Mr. Chapman submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Mr. Loker for
this day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Jordan submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Mr. B. Wor-
thington until Thursday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Syester submitted the following order:

Ordered, That five hundred additional copies of the Re-
port of the Commissioners appointed to prepare drafts of
General Laws relating to corporations and other purposes,
be printed for the use of the members of this House for dis-
tribution.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Horsey submitted the following order:

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr. John-
son, of Dorchester, for one day, to attend to pressing busi-
ness.
