re-payment out of the storage and outage on Tobacco, of mo-
neys heretofore demanded and received by the Inspectors of
Tobacco, in violation of the Acts of 1864, chapter 346, and
1865, chapter 194, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
On motion of Mr. Williams,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal the 8th Section of Article 9 of the
Code of Public General Laws, relating to the assignment of
Judgments held by the State, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
Also leave was granted to the Select Committee on Oysters
to introduce a bill to repeal the 16th section of Article 71 of
the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled Oys-
ters, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Fooks,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Fooks, Hopkins and Corbin
to report a bill prescribing the limits of the several election
districts in Wicomico county, and numbering the same.
On motion of Mr. Hopkins.
Leave was granted to Messrs. Hopkins, Fooks and Smith,
of Worcester, to report a bill limiting the number of Jus-
tices of the Peace and constables in the several election
districts in Wicomico county.
On motion of Mr. Keech,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend the Act of 1864, chapter 109, in
relation to the competency of witnesses and the examination
of parties.
Mr. Brown, Chairman Select Committee, submitted the
following report:
The committee to prepare rules for the House of Delegates
ask leave to report, that they recommend the adoption of the
Rules governing the last Legislature, with the exception of
the first clause of Rule VI, which they propose to strike out,
and also substitute a new Rule for No. 37, viz:
"Upon calls of the House, or on taking the yeas and nays,
the names of the members shall be called by counties, ac-
cording to seniority."
