have contracted with Henry Aisquith, for indexing, arrang-
ing, &c., the Journal of this House for the present session,
for the sum of four hundred and twenty-five dollars, to be
paid when completed.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman Committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably a Senate bill, entitled an Act to amend an
Act entitled an Act to incorporate the President and Direc-
tors of the Howard Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore ;

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following :

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate Burns Lodge, No.
87, of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons ;

Which was read a first time and referred to Messrs. Rose,
Lowe and Percy.

Mr. Dutrow, Chairman Select Committee, reported favor-
ably a bill entitled an Act for the protection of wild game
within the limits of Frederick county ;

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Syester, Chairman Select Committee, reported favora-
bly a bill, entitled an Act to require the Clerk of the Circuit
Court for Washington county to prepare and make a general
index to the land records of Washington county, and to
transcribe one of the Equity dockets of said Court;

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Bowlus, Chairman Select Committee, reported favora-
bly a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate Good Samaritan
Lodge, No. 15, of the Independent Order of Good Templars,
Middletown, Frederick county ;

Which was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Vandiver, (the rules being sus-
pended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill to exempt all the property belonging to the
Independent Order oi Odd Fellows from county, road and
poor tax.

Mr. Latrobe (the rules being suspended) submitted the fol-
lowing order:

Ordered, That the Committee on Public Buildings be in-
structed to enquire into the propriety of providing, by pur-
chase or otherwise, a suitable building in Baltimore city for
State purposes.

Which was adopted.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal Section 40 of Article 11
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Frederick coun-
ty," and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
