JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 18,

The question recurring upon the adoption of the order,
Mr. Keech submitted the following amendment:

Strike out all after the word " ontinuance " to the word
"open "inclusive, and insert the word "of "before the
word "the."

Which was read.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city. moved to lay the amendment
on the table.

The question being on concurring in the motion,

Mr. McElroy demanded the yeas and nays.

The demand being sustained.
