Mr. Blake submitted the following order :

Ordered, That twenty-five thousand copies of Governor
Bowie's inaugural address he printed for the use of this
House, five thousand copies to be printed in the German
language, to be translated by Frederick Raine, of Baltimore

city.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Print-

ing.

Mr. Chaisty submitted the following order:

Ordered, That five thousand copies of Governor Bowie's
inaugural address be printed in English, and two thousand
in the German language, for the use of the members of the
House of Delegates.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Print-
ing.
Mr. Montague submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Corporations inquire
into the expediency of reporting a bill creating the office of
Superintendent of Insurance in this State.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Montague submitted the following order :

That the committee to examine into the affairs of the To-
bacco Warehouses, be requested to consider the propriety of
introducing a bill creating the office of Inspector General of
Tobacco.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Bond, of Calvert, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Jesse J. Dal-
rymple for five days to visit his home on pressing business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Keech submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be in-
structed to inquire whether the public good does not require
the passage of a bill for the more speedy trial of cases of
petty larceny and other criminal offences, and report to the
House as soon as practicable ;

Which was adopted.

Also the following :

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary be in-
structed to inquire whether Article 30, Section 178, of the
Code of Public General Laws entitled " Sabbath Breaking,"
should not be amended so as to impose severer penalties for
those now affixed to the several offences therein enumerated,
and particularly for gunning and hunting on the Sabbath.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Byers submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Noah Bowlus have leave of absence for
three days to visit his home on important business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Jones submitted the following order :
