336 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Feb. 11,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Union Coal Company,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the
Commissioners of Allegauy County, to levy a sum of money
to a'd in the construction of a bridge across the Potomac
River at Westernport in Allegany county,

Was read a second time and ordered to be en grossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Holmes, (the rules being suspended) presented a peti-
tion from sundry citizens of Baltimore and Harford counties,
to empower the County Commissioners of said counties to
build a bridge over Little Gunpowder Falls.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore and Harford
county Delegations.

Also, the petition of Nelson Cullings and 21 other citizens
of Baltimore county praying the passage of an Act to con-
tinue the present school system in force till July 15, 1868.

Also, the petition of Dr. Aquila T. Ridgely and 45 other
citizens of Baltimore county, praying the passage of an Act
to continue the present school system in three till July 15.
1868.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on
Education.

Mr. Biddison, (the rules being suspended) presented the
petition of Hugh Crockett and 19 other citizens of Baltimore
county, praying the passage of an Act to continue the present
school system in force till July 15, 1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Silver, (the rules being suspended) presented a peti-
tion from J. B. Preston, C. Baker and other citizens of Har-
ford county, praying the passage of an Act to incorporate a
Ferry Company to construct boats to run between Port De-
posit, in Cecil county and Lapidum, in Harford county.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil and Harford dele-
gations.

Also, a petition of Benj. H. Miller, John C. Thompson
and 26 other citizens of Harford county, praying the passage
of an Act, to continue in force the present school system till
July 15, 1868.
