Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
be subject to repeal or modification by the Legisla-
ture, proper indemnity being granted the Company
for expenses incurred by it in the construction of
its works, and this Act shall take effect from the
date of its passage.

CHAPTER 456,

AN ACT to amend the Act of January Session,
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, Chapter three
hundred and thirty-four, entitled " An Act to
incorporate the Washington County Railroad."

Construct
railroad.

SECTION 1 . Se it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Washington County Rail-
road Company, incorporated by the Act of January
Session, eighteen hundred and sixty-four, Chapter
three hundred and thirty-four, be and is hereby
authorized to construct a railroad or railroads
from a point at or near the present place of be-
ginning of the Washington County Railroad, in
or near Hagerstown, in Washington County, Ma-
ryland, to the line of the Franklin Railroad, at
a point in or near Hagerstown, aforesaid, so as
to establish a connection between the said Frank-
lin Railroad and the said Washington County
Railroad, as provided by the eighth Section of the
seventy-ninth Chapter of the Act of the General
Assembly of this State, passed at December Ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and thirty-six, entitled
" An Act to authorize the Franklin Railroad
Company, incorporated by the State of Pennsyl-
vania, to extend their works within the limits of
the State of Maryland.
