CHAPTER 407. AN ACT to add a new Article to the Code of Public General Laws to be entitled "Public Education," providing a general system of Free Public Schools for the State of Maryland, and to repeal all laws inconsistent therewith.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That there shall be throughout the State of Maryland a general system of Free Pub- lic Schools, according to the provisions of this Act.	Free Public Schools.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall be added to the Code of Public General Laws under the title " Public Education," and that all exist- ing laws inconsistent herewith be and the same are hereby repealed. TITLE 1. — Supervision. CHAPTER I.	Repealed.
SECTION 1 . Educational matters affecting a Coun- ty shall be under the control of a Board of County School Commissioners, one of whom shall Be chosen as the President of said Board, and a person not a member of said Board shall be elected to serve as Secretary and Treasurer.	President of Board.
Sec. 2. And School District Boards composed of three persons, one of whom shall be the School Commissioner of the election district in which the, school-house is situate.	How com- posed.
