Sec. 146. The Register of Wills for Baltimore
County shall keep a general alphabet or index to
the record of the wills, and of such other matters
recorded in said office as the public convenience
may require, and shall be entitled to demand and
receive from the party for whom the service is per-
formed, ten cents for each will or other matter en-
tered therein, and it shall be his duty to enter in
said general alphabet or index all such wills or
other matters as have not been entered in said in-
dex up to the beginning of the term of the present
incumbent of said office, and shall be entitled to
receive therefor the said sum of ten cents for each
entry on said index.

Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That the County
Commissioners for Baltimore County be and they
are hereby authorized and directed to levy for and
pay over said amount to the Register of Wills for
Baltimore County, upon the certificate of the Or-
phans' Court, that said services have been properly
performed.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support
of the Government, for the year ending the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and seventy.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the expenditures in the
support of the Government, for the year ending
on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
seventy, the following sums of money, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are
hereby appropriated, that is to say :
