CHAPTER 378.

AN ACT to repeal Section fifty, Article five, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Ap-
peals," sub-title " Appeals from Justices of
the Peace," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section fifty, Article five, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Ap-
peals," sub-title "Appeal from Justices of the
Peace," be repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows :
APPEALS FROM JUSTICES OF THE PEACE.

Appeal.
|
50. Any party aggrieved thereby may appeal
from any judgment of a Justice of the Peace to
the Circuit Court for the County, or the Baltimore
City Court of Baltimore, at any time within sixty
days from the rendition of such judgment, and the
Court to which such appeal is taken shall hear the
case de novo, and determine the same according to
law and the equity of the matter, and this Section
shall be construed to include all actions of debts
for the collection of fines, penalties and forfeitures
imposed by any law of this State, and which are
made recoverable before a Justice of the Peace, in
which a right of appeals may not be given by the
law imposing the same.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from its passage.
