CHAPTER 379.

 

AN ACT to revive and continue in force the
Charter of the Nanticoke Bridge Company.

 

WHEREAS, the Corporation known as the " Nan-
ticoke Bridge Company," chartered by the Geper-
al Assembly of Maryland, December Session,
eighteen hundred and seventeen, Chapter two
hundred and twenty-four, and subsequent acts,
has become extinct for want of successors ; there-
fore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Charter of the Corporation
known as the "Nanticoke Bridge Company,"
and subsequent acts thereto, be, and the same are
hereby revived and continued in force, and that
George W. Bounds, Andrew J. Crawford, Joseph
Bratton and Josephus Taylor, of Wicomico Coun-
ty, and Thomas H. Webb, Wm. Spry Sherman,
Dr. S. S. Ewell, R. F. Thompson and A. S. Per-
cy, and their successors, be and they are hereby
made and declared to be successors to the corpor-
ators named in Section one of Chapter two hundred
and twenty-four of December Session, eighteen
hundred and seventeen, and have full power to act
under the said charter aforesaid and amendments

Revived.

thereto, the same as if they were the original cor-
porators, and shall have full power to rebuild said
bridge or dispose of the property of the said cor-
poration by sale or otherwise ; provided the said
corporators aforesaid, in case of the disposal of said
property as aforesaid, pay to the Treasurer of the
State of Maryland, its proportion of the proceeds
arising from said disposal of said property.

Power to act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all Acts or
parts of Acts, inconsistent with this Act, be and
the same are hereby repealed.

Repealed.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 30, 1868.
