tice who issued the summons, or before the Justice
of the ward in which he resides.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 376.
|

AN ACT to repeal Section nine of Article nine-
teen of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Somerset County," sub- title "Alms House,"
and enact the following in lieu thereof:

Repealed and
re-enacted.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section nine of Article nine-
teen of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Somerset County," sub-title "Alms House,"
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enac-
ted to read as follows :

Appoint
overseer.
|
9. They shall, at their annual meeting in May,
appoint an overseer of said "Alms House, and at
their annual meeting in November, or at such
time as they may deem proper, appoint a physi-
cian and such agents and laborers as they may
think necessary, and the overseer so as aforesaid
elected, shall enter upon the discharge of his du-
ties on the first day of January the next ensuing.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
