entrance through any toll-gate on said road by
force, violence or intimidation, such person or per-
sons so offending shall be subject to indictment in
the Circuit Court of the county, and upon convic-
tion of such offences shall be punished by fine

and imprisonment in the discretion of the Court.

Keep right
of road.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That the drivers of
carriages and vehicles of all kinds shall keep their
horses and vehicles on the right hand side of said
road, leaving the other side of the road clear and
free for other vehicles to pass and repass, and if
any driver shall offend against this provision, he
shall forfeit and pay not exceeding ten dollars to
any person who shall be obstructed in his passage,
the same to be recovered as in debt with costs be-
fore any Justice of the Peace of the county.

Build lateral
branches.

Sec. 12. And be it enacted, That the Company
hereby incorporated shall have power to build and
to extend lateral branches of its road to Bladens-
burg and Upper Marlboro, respectively, in Prince
George's County, at any time within five years
from the passage of this Act, with the same
powers, privileges and franchises which are con-
ferred upon them by this bill, and shall have power
to use the most direct county roads to those places,
by and with consent of the County Commissioners,
or to diverge from the same at will.

Authorized
to subscribe.

Sec. 13. And be if, enacted, That the County
Commissioners of Prince George's County be and
they are hereby authorized in their discretion to
subscribe to the capital stock of said Turnpike
Company ; provided, the sum subscribed by them
shall not exceed the sum of five thousand dollars ;
and provided always, that the provisions of Arti-
cle three and Section fifty-four of the Constitution
of Maryland in this regard are complied with.

Banking pro
hibited.

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act contained shall be so construed as to authorize
said Company, or its agents or officers, to issue
any scrip pr bank note or exercise any banking
privileges.

Reservation.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That the Legislature
reserves to itself the right to change, alter or
amend this Act of incorporation at pleasure.
