Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed Jan-
uary session, 1866, entitled an Act to incorporate a company
to build a turnpike road from Union Bridge, Carroll county,
to Unionville, Frederick county, and to enact a substitute
therefor, with proposed amendment.

Amendment proposed :

In section 10, line 5, after the word "authorized," insert
as follows : Subject to the provisions of Article 3, section 54,
of the Constitution of Maryland.

Which was read and adopted.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Additional section.

And le it enacted, That this company shall not be privi-
leged to charge any tolls for vehicles passing over its road
for the purpose of attending funerals.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Also,

Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Deer Park
Turnpike Road Company, of Baltimore county, with pro-
posed amendments.

Amendments proposed:

Strike out all after section 2 in the Senate bill, and insert
the within sections:

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the stockholders in said
company shall be, and they are hereby incorporated and
constituted a body politic, by the name of the Deer Park
Turnpike Road Company in Baltimore county, and by the
same name shall have succession during the continuance of
this corporation ; and the said stockholders and their suc-
cessors, by the above authority, may sue and be sued, answer
and he answered, in any Court of Law or Equity in this
State, and may adopt and use a common seal, and may do
and execute every other matter and thing by the name afore-
said that they are authorized to do by virtue of this Act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the President and Di-
rectors, after their election as hereinbefore provided for,
shall have full power to receive additional subscriptions for
the completion of said road, and said President and Di-
