or persons using said road, the tolls and rates per
mile, the same to be regulated by the President
and Managers of the Company, provided, that the
rates and tolls so regulated shall not exceed those
of other roads, of like nature, in this State, and
to stop any person riding, leading or driving any
horses, mules, oxen, coach, cart, wagon wain or
sled, cattle, hogs, sheep, sulky, chaise, phaeton or
other carriage of pleasure or burthen, from passing
through the said .gates until the tolls for the said
passage shall have been paid.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 346.
AN ACT to repeal certain portions of the Act of
eighteen hundred and sixty, Chapter three hun-
dred and three, of the General Assembly of
Maryland, relating to the Columbia and Port
Deposit Railroad Company.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, The Columbia and Port Deposit Rail-
road Company, incorporated by the Act of the
General Assembly of Maryland of eighteen hun-
dred and fifty eight, Chapter one hundred and
three, and its supplements, has formed a union
with the Columbia and Port Deposit Railroad
Company, incorporated by the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania, and the said two Companies are
now merged in and constitute one body corporate
under the name of the Columbia and Port Deposit
Railroad Company, in pursuance of the provisions
of the twenty-fourth Section of the said Act of
eighteen hundred and fifty-eight, Chapter one
hundred and three, and in pursuance of like powers
granted by the Legislature of Pennsylvania to the
Columbia and Port Deposit Railroad Company in-
corporated by the said Commonwealth ;
