On motion of Mr. Seibert,
Leave was granted to the Washington county delegation to
report a hill for the protection of partridges and other game,
in Washington county.
On motion of Mr. Syester,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill regulating the fees of the Clerks of the sev-
eral Courts of this State.
On motion of Mr. Mullin,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to amend and re-enact sections 33, 39 and
75, of article 81, of Public General Laws, entitled "Reve-
nue and Taxes," and relating to the appointment of, and the
bonds to be given by, and compensation paid to, the Collec-
tors of State Taxes.
On motion of Mr. Chaisty,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill to amend the charter of the Gilmor House, of
Baltimore city.
On motion of Mr. Wentz,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in-
troduce a bill to correct an inadvertence in the distribution
of the School Fund of the State of Maryland.
On motion of Mr. Holloway,
Leave was granted to the Worcester county delegation to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal the first section of
the Act of January session, 1864, chapter 309, entitled an
Act to add a new section to Article 22 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, Worcester county, for the protection of par-
tridges, and re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Beck,
Leave was granted to the Kent and Caroline delegations to
introduce a hill entitled an Act to amend an Act entitled an
Act to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Kent county to subscribe in behalf of said county to the
capital stock of the Kent county Rail Road Company, and to
issue bonds for the same, and to provide for their redemp-
tion, passed at January session, 1867, chapter 139, by
adding a proviso to the first section of said Act relating to
the issuing of county bonds, and the time for their payment.

Gentlemen of the Senate :
We propose, with, the assent of your Honorable Body, to
appoint a joint special committee of four members of the
House, and three on the part of the Senate, to take into
consideration that portion of the Governor's Message which
relates to the wants of the Maryland Penitentiary, and to
