ration shall consist of eleven persons, unless the
said General Assembly shall change that number,
six of whom shall be necessary to a quorum com-
petent to do business, unless the said General As-
sembly shall change the number to form a quorum,
which it may do ; the said eleven persons consti-
tuting the said Corporation may at any time be re-
moved by the said General Assembly, and their
successors be appointed by that body, and all va-
cancies may be filled as the said General Assembly
may direct.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the first meet-
ing of the persons named in this Act as corpora-
tors, shall be held in the city of Baltimore, and
that a majority of said persons may assent to this
Act of incorporation, and proceed to exercise the
powers hereby granted.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage, and the
General Assembly reserves the right to amend or
repeal this Act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 294.
AN ACT to add a new Article to the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws, to be entitled "Domestic In-
surance Company," providing for annual re-
ports of the condition of the said several Insur-
ance Companies incorporated under the laws of
this State, and doing business within the limits
thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That every Joint Stock Insurance
Company organized under the laws of this State,
and doing business of insurance therein, shall make
annually, on the first day of January, or within
