LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Appropria-
tion.

Sec. 2. Se it enacted, That the sum often thou-
sand dollars be and is hereby appropriated for the
purpose of establishing a Hospital in connection
with Washington University, and that the said
sum shall be paid by the Treasurer, upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller, into the hands of the said
Visitors, to be expended by them in the purchase
of a suitable hospital building and the necessary
furniture for the same, the property thus acquired
to be held by them as trustees, for the exclusive
use of the said University, so long as it is devoted
to the purposes contemplated by this Act, and in
the event of its diversion to other purposes, to be
sold by them at public sale, and the proceeds
thereof returned to the State.

Sec. 3. Be it enacted, That the sum of twenty-
five hundred dollars be and is hereby annually ap-
propriated for the purpose of sustaining the said
Hospital, and that the said sum shall be paid by
the Treasurer, upon the warrant of the Comptrol-
ler of the State of Maryland, into the hands of the
executive officer of the Faculty of Washington
University, upon the production by him of a cer-
tificate from the Board of Visitors, setting forth
the fact that the officers in charge of said Hospital
are prepared to receive and to treat, without any
charge whatsoever, one patient from each county
of the State of Maryland and Legislative District
of the city of Baltimore, and also that the said
Faculty are prepared to receive and to educate,
without charge, save for matriculation, dissection
and graduation fees, one student from each Senato-
rial District of this State, to be recommended by
the. Senator of the county and Legislative District
of the city of Baltimore from which the student
shall be received.

Repealed.

Sec. 4. Be it enacted, That all Acts or clauses
of Acts in conflict with the provisions of this Bill,
be and are hereby repealed.

In force.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
be in force from the day and date of its passage,
