county.

On motion of Mr. Corbin,

Leave was granted a select committee, consisting of Messrs,
Corbin , Horsey and Smith of Worcester, to introduce a bill to
authorize the Governor to appoint an additional Justice of
the Peace and Constable for Dame's Quarter, Princess Anne
election district, in Somerset county.

Also,

Leave was granted to the same committee to introduce a bill
to repeal sections 46 and 47 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Somerset county, relating to re-numbering the election
districts of said county, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion of Mr. Brown,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Trustees of Soule Chapel,
Methodist Episcopal Church South, of Harford county.

Mr. Iglehart, chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the
People's Ferry, Towing and Transportation Company of
Baltimore.

Which was read a first time.
Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Fair-
mount Academy, in election District, No. 11, in Somerset
county.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Western
Erin and Reisterstown Turnpike Company, with proposed
amendment.

Amendment proposed :

Section 10, line 3, after the word "authorized," insert the
words subject to the provisions of Article 3, section 51 of the
Constitution of Maryland.

The amendment was adopted, and the bill as amended

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act
