Mr. Colton submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted Mr. Montague
from Baltimore county, for two days, on pressing business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Montague submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the visiting committee to the charitable and
benevolent institutions in this State, be requested to visit the
Manual Labor School, and that in visiting said institution,
they inquire particularly into its probable future benefit to
the farming interest of this State,

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Byers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Kunkle Mountain House
Company, of Frederick county.

On motion of Mr. Guy,

Leave was granted to the Prince George's delegation to
introduce a bill authorizing the Commissioners of Prince
George's county, to erect a bridge over the Eastern Branch,
on the old turnpike leading from the town of Bladensburg to
Hyattsville near the Spa, and to levy an amount on the asses-
sable property of said county to build the same, not exceeding
the sum of five thousand dollars.

On motion of Mr. Latrobe,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Militia to in-
troduce a bill for the establishment, equipment and proper
organization of a militia force for this State.

On motion of Mr. Nelson,

Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to report a
Mil to allow additional compensation to the Sheriff of Harford
county for boarding inmates of the jail of said county.

On motion of Mr. Rose,

Leave was granted to the Caroline and Talbot delegations
to introduce a bill to repeal "an Act to add a new Article to
the Code of Public General Laws passed March, 1867, chap.
289, entitled Public Roads in Caroline and Talbot counties,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Seibert,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Roads and High-
ways to report a bill entitled an Act to incorporate and to make
a turnpike road from Wood Point to the Pennsylvania line,
