Mr. Chaisty submitted the following amendment :

Sub-section 2, line 3, strike out the word "fifty," and in-
sert the word seventy-five.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Williams submitted the following amendment:

Sub-section 75, line 5, strike out the word " six," and in-
sert the word five.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McElroy submitted the following amendment:

Sub-section 75, line 6, strike out the word "two," and
insert the words three-fourths of one.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Clark submitted the following amendment, as a new
section:

And be it enacted, That Howard county be exempted from
the operations of this bill.

Which was rejected.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 1st of the Act
passed March 23d, 186*7; chapter 1ST, entitled an Act to limit
the amount of stationery furnished to members and officers
of the General Assembly, and to provide a system of com-
mutation, and re-enact in lieu of section first, so repealed,
the following,

Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the first order of the
day,

The House resumed the consideration of the bill entitled
an Act to authorize and require the Comptroller to correct
the errors in the distribution of the "Free School Fund,"
accruing under the Acts of 1813 and 1816, from the year
1852 to the year 1867, inclusive, and to pay to Baltimore
city and to Baltimore county the amounts of which they have
been deprived by said errors, and to make appropriation for
that purpose.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

The question recurring upon the motion submitted by Mr.
Syester to strike out the enacting clause,
