A bill entitled an Act to refund to Lewis Tydings and
Henry Tydings. of Anne Arundel county, certain sums of

money erroneously paid into the Treasury.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Claims.

A bill entitled an Act to Incorporate a company to con-
truct a turnpike road from Hagerstown to Cearefoss
Cross-roads, in Washington county.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to amend Article 59 of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to mandamus, by adding
thereto additional sections.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the 45th section of
Article 29 of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
Circuit Courts for the counties, and substitute the following
section in lieu thereof.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

A bill entitled an Act to authorise and direct the Treas-
urer to pay to Mrs. Frances Miller a sum of money due Wm.
P.. Miller, deceased, for per diem and mileage as a member

of the Legislature of Maryland at the session of 1861.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Claims.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 153, passed Jan-
uary session, 1867, entited an Act to add an additional sec-
tion to Article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws, re-
lating to Crimes and Punishments, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on. the Judiciary.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal and re-enact with amend-
ments sections 33, 34, 35, 39 and 75 of Article 81, of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled ' 'Revenue and Taxes,"
and relating to the appointment of and the bonds to be given
by and compensation paid to the Collectors of State taxes,
