present terminus, under the amended charter, at
the intersection of the Frederick and Liberty
Road with the New Market Road, to the east end
of the town of Liberty or east of the town of
Liberty, to the western terminus of the Liberty
and New Windsor Turnpike Road.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That John P. Derr,
Edward Shriner, Samuel Hoke, Jacob Diller and
Samuel Musbaum of A., the present Managers,
and their successors in office, be, and they or any
two of them, are authorized to take subscription,
for additional Stock to the amount of eighteen
thousand dollars, or to such an amount not ex-
ceeding thirty thousand dollars, as shall be suffi-
cient to build and complete the whole road from
the Woodsborough and Frederick Turnpike Road
to the east end of the town of Liberty, or east of
Liberty town, to the western terminus of the
Liberty and New Windsor Turnpike Road, with
full powers in the Managers of said road to collect
such subscriptions of Stock in such instalments as
said Managers may prescribe.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Man-
agers and their successors in office, as soon as one-
half of the additional Stock authorized by this
Act shall be subscribed, shall proceed to expend
the same in the construction of said road, in the
manner prescribed by the original Act to which
this is a supplement, and to continue to construct
the same as the Stock necessary for the comple-
tion of a part or the whole of said road shall be
from time to time subscribed.

Sec. 4, And be it enacted, That when portions
of said road from time to time shall be completed,
not less than two miles, the President and Mana-
gers shall notify the Governor, who- shall there-
upon forthwith appoint three skillful persons to
examine said road and report thereon, and if they,
or a majority of them, report favorably, the Gov-
ernor shall issue license, and authorize said Com-

pany to erect toll-gates, and to charge for each
and every mile, and every fraction of a mile, now
allowed by law ; provided, that said Company
may erect such and so many toll-gates upon and
across the said road as may be necessary and suffi-
cient to collect the tolls and duties thereon, and
from time to time change the location thereof.
