AN ACT for the relief of Nathaniel Duke, Geo.
W. Dowell and Thomas B. Billingsley,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Calvert county are hereby allowed in their discre-
tion to release Nathaniel Duke, George W. Dow-
ell and Thomas B. Billingsley from the payment
of all interest due the County Commissioners of
said county, on a judgment recovered by the State
of Maryland in the Circuit Court for said county
at the May term of said Court, in the year eighteen
hundred and fifty-six, against the said Nathaniel
Duke, George W. Dowell and Thomas B. Billings-
ley for the sum of $628.28, with the interest
thereon from the twelfth day of May, 1856, the
same being the amount then due to said County
Commissioners from William Billingsley, a de-
faulting Collector of taxes for the second collection
district of the county aforesaid, and for which the
above mentioned judgment was recovered on the
bond given by the said William Billingsley, with
Nathaniel Duke, George W. Dowell and Thomas
B. Billingsley as securities thereon, for the faith-
ful performance of his duties as Collector afore-
said for the year 1851 ; provided, that the princi-
pal of the judgment aforesaid shall be paid to the
County Commissioners of Calvert county on or
before the tenth day of June next.
