Sec. 9. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the day of its passage. The General
Assembly reserves the right to alter or repeal this
Act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 30.
AN ACT to amend the forty-third Section of the
twenty-ninth Article of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws, relating to the compensation of the
crier of the Court of Appeals, and of the sheriff,
appointed to attend said Court, and the Act of
eighteen hundred and sixty-two, Chapter one
hundred and seven, amending the same by re-
pealing the same and enacting a substitute
therefor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the forty-third Section of the
of the twenty-ninth Article of the Code of Public
General Laws, relating to the compensation of the
crier of the Court of Appeals and of the sheriff
|

eighteen hundred and sixty-two, Chapter one hun-
dred ami seven, amending the same, be and they
are hereby severally repealed, and that the follow-
ing be and the same is hereby enacted in lieu
thereof:

Sec. 43. The crier appointed by the Court of
Appeals shall receive five dollars a day for his at-
tendance for every day, Sundays excepted, during
the terms of session of said Court of Appeals, and
whenever, in the judgment of said Court, the at-
tendance or services of a sheriff may be required
in said Court: the judges thereof may direct a
sheriff to attend or perform such services, for which
attendance and services the said sheriff shall be. en-
titled to a per diem of three dollars and fifty
cents, and the judges of said Court shall, at the end
