intersection of the New Windsor and Westminster
Road with the said Uniontown and Westminster
Turnpike Road, following the present bed of the
said New Windsor and Westminster Road as far
as may be found practicable, in the same manner
as is provided for by the original Act, to which
this Act is a supplement.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Capital Stock
of the said Liberty and New Windsor Turnpike
Company be and the same is hereby increased to
one hundred thousand dollars, to be divided into
shares, and be paid in the way and manner pro-
vided for in the original Act, to which this Act is
a supplement.

Capital Stock.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That as soon as the said
Company have completed three miles of said road
by making an artificial road of atone, the bed of
which shall be at least sixteen feet wide, then it
may and shall be lawful for the said Company to
erect a toll gate thereon, and so on from time to
time a like distance, to erect and fix such and so
many toll gates upon and across the said roads as
will be necessary and sufficient to collect the tolls
and duties provided for by the original Act, to
which this Act is a supplement ; and the said Cor-
poration or Company is hereby further authorized
and empowered to assess, annually, upon each in-
dividual or person habitually using said road, be-
tween the toll gates thereof, and not passing or
going through any of such toll gates, such amount
to he paid quarterly by the individual or person so
assessed, as shall be just and reasonable for such
use of said road, and shall linve power to collect
the same before any Justice of the Peace of the
county in which such individual or person may re-
side or do business, in an action of debt, provided
that no funeral procession, or persons passing to
or from church, or from one part of their farm to
another part thereof, shall be chargeable with
tolls.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of said Company shall have power
of purchasing and holding as much lands as they
may deem sufficient for the purpose of erecting toll
houses and having gardens thereto attached, to-
gether with, necessary outbuildings for the use of toll
