MONDAY. February 3d, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Henderson.

Present at the call of the roll the following members:

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker.) Loker, Coad. Boyer, Ham-
mond, Iglehart, Deale, Mitchell, Chapman, Nicolai, Sling-
luff, Montague, Holmes, Biddison. Rose, Corbin, Horsey,
Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone,
Richards, Mearns, Keech, Guy. Williams, Sudler, Smith,
of Worcester, Dutrow, Wenner, Bowlus, Maynard, Byers,
Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Moore, Hubbard, Banner. Wentz,
Piobb, Morse, Latrobe, Pentland, Smith, of Baltimore city,
Bond, of Baltimore city, Mullin, Chaisty, McElroy, Harig,
Markland, Marshall, Conway, Syester. Herbert, Rohrer,
Puggs, Conley, McCulloh, Kears, Devecmon, Trirnble. Hall,
Worthington, Clark. Jones. Hopkins—67.

Mr. Jones presented the petition of sundry citizens of
Howard county, praying the passage of an Act to continue
in force the present school system until the 15th of July,

1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Montague presented the memorial of the Board of
Trustees of the Manual Labor School, situate in the county of
Baltimore.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Biddison presented the petition of James S. Alexan-
der, Andrew Jackson, and 33 other citizens of Baltimore
county, praying the passage of an Act to continue the pres-
ent school system in force till July 15th. 1868.

Also.

The petition of John Broadbelt. Wm. A. Pine, and 14
other citizens of Baltimore county, praying the passage of
an Act to continue the present school system in force till
July 15th, 1868.

Also,

The petition of Dr. Walter T. Allender. Benjamin F.

Taylor, and 33 other citizens of Baltimore county, praying
