1868.] OF THE SENATE. 817 The Senate went into Executive Session. After a short session the Senate resumed the consideration. of legislative business. The following message was received from the House of Delegates: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, March 30,1868. Gentlemen of the Senate: We have received your message for the appointment of a Committee to wait on the Governor to inform him of the con- templated adjournment of the two Houses, and respectfully concur in the same, and have appointed Messrs. Iglehart, Blake and Hubbard on the part of the House. By order, M. Y. KIDD, Chief Clerk. Mr. Grove offered the following order : Ordered, That Wm. H. Hiss, P. M. Slicer, E. G. Mitchell and Thomas Townsend, for extra services be paid the sum of two dollars extra per day, and the vote of thanks for their uniform courtesy and diligence in performance of duty. Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Kimmel, Browne, Maddox, Clarke, Spates, Denson, Walsh—9. Grove, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Brewer, Hyland, Carroll, Hammond, Earle, Lee, Fields, Parker, of Calvert, Henkle, Welch—10. Mr. Grove offered the following order : Ordered, That no extra money by way of pay be paid by the Treasurer to any subordinate officer of this Senate. Which was rejected. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered An Act to repeal sections 44, 45 and 46, of Article 16, of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled Prince George's county, under head of Collectors, and sections 47, 48 and 49, |
