1868.] OF THE SENATE. 711 EVENING SESSION. FRIDAY, March 27,1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Carroll, Den- son, Earle, Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Lee, Mad- dox, Malone, Parker, of Calvert, Smith, Walsh, Welch—18. On motion by Mr. Denson, The House bill incorporating the Baltimore City Passenger Railway Company bill, Was considered, and Recommitted to the Committee on Corporations. Senate bill entitled an Act to amend and define the Act of Assembly of 1867, chapter 385, entitled an Act to provide for the payment of pensions to Maryland soldiers of the war of 1812, and widows of deceased soldiers of 1812, Was taken up on its third reading, Read a third time and rejected by yeas and nays as fol- lows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Biggs, Maddox, Brewer, Miller, Clarke, Malone, Grove, Parker, of Calvert, Hyland, Spates—10. NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Fields, Browne, Hammond, Carroll, Lee, Denson, Smith, Earle, Welch—10 Mr. Brewer offered the following : Ordered, That hereafter no Senator be allowed to speak more than five minutes on any question. Which Mr. Clarke moved to lay on the table. Which motion was determined in the affirmative by yeas and nays as follows : 46 |
