Page 48, section 4, line 3, strike out State Board of Educa-
tion, and insert Board of County School Commissioners.

Which were adopted.
Mr. Earle offered the following amendments :

Page 49, section 7, strike out the words "State Commis-

sioners of Education," and insert the words State Treasurer.

Page 49, section 7, line 6, strike out the words " said
State Commissioner," and insert in lieu thereof the Board of
Trustees of the State Normal School.
Which were adopted.

On motion by Mr. Earle,

The vote by which section 1, chap. 22, was adopted,
Was reconsidered,

And he offered the following amendment to said section :
Page 47, line 6, strike out the word "Treasurer," where
it occurs, and insert Comptroller.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Compton offered the following amendment:
Page 48, strike out section 6, and insert as soon as the
Comptroller shall have received from the city of Baltimore
and the several counties, a return of the amount of State
school tax, levied in each county and the city of Baltimore,
he shall immediately thereafter apportion the amount of the
whole levy to the several counties and the city of Baltimore,
in proportion to their respective populations, between the
ages of five and twenty years, and the State Treasurer shall,
upon the warrant of the Comptroller, pay over the amount of
the whole levy to the proper officers in the city of Baltimore
and the several counties authorized to receive.

Which was adopted.
Mr. Earle offered the following amendment :

Page 47, section —, line 1, insert after the word " Trea-
surer," the words, on the warrant of the Comptroller.

Mr. Earle offered the following amendment :

Page 50, section 8, line 4, strike out from the word " to,"
where it first occurs, to the word "and," and insert the
words Trustees of the State Normal School.

Mr. Kimmel offered the following amendment :

Page 34, chapter 12, entitled examination of Teachers,
add to the last section of chapter 12, the words following :

The Boards of County School Commissioners shall not elect
