In the same line, strike- out the word "Baltimore" and insert "Annapolis." Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Henkle, Brewer, Hammond, Fields, Welch—6. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Maddox, Biggs, Miller, Clarke, Parker, of Calvert, Carroll, Spates, Earle, Smith—10. Mr. Earle moved that the Senate adjourn. Which was determined in the negative by yeas and nays. as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Earle, Biggs, Maddox, Carroll, Parker, of Calvert—6. NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Brewer, Miller, Clarke, Spates, Denson, Smith, Fields, Welch—11. Henkle, Mr. Compton offered the following amendment : Chapter 13, section 2, strike out in line 2, the words "as the State Board," and insert in lieu thereof, "as the Trus- tees of the Normal School. Chapter 13, section 3, strike out the words "State Board of Education," where they occur, and insert in lieu thereof the words, the Trustees of the Normal School. Which were adopted. Mr. Earle offered the following amendments : Page 35, section 4, line 2, strikeout the words "State Board of Education," and insert, Board of Trustees of State Normal School. Page 35, chapter 13, section 5, strike out "State Board of Education," where it occurs, and insert, Trustees of State Normal School. Page 35, section 5, line 7, strike out the words "city of Baltimore," and insert inlieu thereof, the Board of Com- missioners of the public schools of the city of Baltimore. |
