682 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 26, AFTERNOON SESSION. THURSDAY, March 26, IS68. At 5, P. M., the Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Clarke, Gar- roll, Earle, Fields, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Lee, Smith, Welch—15. Senate bill entitled an Act to amend Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title Guano, by adding thereto the following section, relating to the inspection of all fertilizers other than guano, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hyland, Browne, Hammond, Biggs, Kimmel, Brewer, Lee, Carroll, Smith, Earle, Welch—13. Fields, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. The consideration of the House general School bill was continued from chapter —, section 9. Mr. Kimmel offered the following amendment: Page 18, section 9, line 5, strike out the words "State Commission," and insert the words, Principal of the State Normal School. Which was adopted. Mr. Hammond offered the following amendment: Page 18, section 10, line 9, insert after the word "open" the words, in part. Strike out in same line all after the word "district" to the end of section, and insert, and shall receive their proportion of the school fund for said school, rating a full school at twenty-five scholars. To which amendment, Mr. Maddox offered the following amendment : |
