Mr. Compton offered the following amendment,

Chapter 5, section 3, strike out all after the word board,
line 1, to the word shall, in line 3,

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hammond submitted the following amendment,
Section 6, line 4, strike out "two," and insert three,
Which was adopted.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment,

Section 6, line 33, after the word "proper," strike out all
to the word of, in line 37, and insert the cost of dividing
the county, shall be paid by the School Commissioners out
of the School Fund of the county,
Which was adopted.

Mr. Kimmel offered the following amendment :
Page 17, section 7, strike out section 7.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Hammond offered the following amendment:

Page 17, section 8, line 5, after the word "certificate,"
insert granted in the county in which he is teaching.

Which was adopted.
Mr. Kimmel offered the following amendment :

Page 17, chapter 5, section 8. line 5, strike out from
"granted" to "in," in line 7, and insert, and shall give
notice thereof to the Principal of the State Normal School.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Henkle offered the following amendment:
New section as section 7 :

Every School Commissioner shall, in conjunction with the
Trustees of each school, exercise a strict supervision over all
the public schools in his election district, and visit each of
them at least once in two months, of which visit he shall
notify the trustees, and for these services he shall receive
twelve dollars per school per annum for each school within
his election district, to be paid from the school fund of the
county.
