680 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 26,

On motion by Mr. Clarke,

Debate upon the bill before the Senate was limited to five
minutes on the part of each Senator upon any one question,
and ordered that no Senator should speak twice upon the-
same question.

Mr. Hammond offered the following amendments to the
bill:

Section—line 1. Strike out the words "Board of," and
insert the word two.

Strike out chapter 3, page 6.
Which were adopted.
Mr. Kimmel offered the following :
Amend by striking out chapter 4.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Clarke offered the following amendment,
Page 10, chapter 5, line 8, after the word, "paid," insert
out of the school fund,

Which was adopted.
Mr. Hammond offered the following amendment,

Page 11, chapter 5, line 15, strike out after the word,
"Commissioners," the words "provided that nothing con-
tained in this section shall affect the property held in trust
by the State Board of Education,"

Which was adopted.

Mr. Henkle offered the following amendment,
Page 10, chapter 5, section 1, after the word, "year," in-
sert, or oftener if necessary,

Which was rejected.
Mr. Clarke offered the following amendment,

Page 10, chapter 5, line 7, strike out "County Commis-
sioners," and insert School Commissioners, and all other
words, to the word all in line 8,

Which was adopted.
Mr. Hammond offered the following amendment,

Page 11, chapter 5, section 2, line 5, strike out all after
the word, "enumerated," to the end of the section,

Which was rejected.

Mr. Maddox offered the following amendment,
Page 12, section 2, line 7, strike out all after the word,
