608 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS Mar. 21, House bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore and the County Com- missioners of Washington county to waive the liens acquired by them respectively, under a mortgage heretofore executed to the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore by the Western Maryland Railroad Company, in trust, to indemnify the said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore and the County Commis- sioners of Washington county upon their endorsements re- spectively upon the second mortgage bonds of said county. Which was read the second time. House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap- ter 164, entitled an Act to provide for the payment of costs incurred before Justices of the Peace before appeal shall be heard from their decisions, Was read the third time and rejected by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Biggs, Hyland, Clarke, Walsh—5 Grove, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Brewer, Parker, of Calvert, Carroll, Spates, Henkle, Snyder, Lee, Smith—9. Miller, The bill wag then returned to the House of Delegates. The following message was received from the House of Delegates: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, March 21,1868. Gentlemen of the Senate : We respectfully ask your Honorable Body to return the Senate bill entitled an Act to require the several Clerks to the County Commissioners and the Clerk to the Appeal Tax Court of Baltimore city, to make out a copy of the revised assessment of 1866, and return the same to the Comptroller of the Treasury, passed by the House of Delegates, March 21,1868.
