Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the sale of intoxicat- ing liquors within one-fourth of a mile of the school house in school district number 11, in Anne Arundel county, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Comptroller of the Treasury to adjust and settle the claims of the State At- torneys in the several counties and city of Baltimore for certain fees due by the State, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to allow certain persons to build a pier in connection with one of the State wharves in Baltimore city, Was read a second time, and Its engrossment being refused, The bill was lost. Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Commissioners of Anne Arundel county to contribute one thousand dollars toward the purchase of the bridge at Elk Ridge Landing, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to make valid certain indent- ures of apprenticeships made and entered into in Somerset county, in the year 1864, which said indentures were not ratified by the Judges of the Orphans' Court of said county in time, in consequence of the illegal military arrest of the said Judges of the said Orphans' Court, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to prohibit the collectors of city and county taxes from applying money collected by them for city and county purposes to payment of State taxes, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. The vote by which House bill entitled an Act to legalize a supplement to the Maryland Code, containing the Acts of the General Assembly passed at the sessions of 1861,1861-62, 1864, 1865, 1866 and 1867, arranged in Articles and sections to correspond with the Code of Lewis Mayer, and to appropriate a sum of money to purchase copies of the same, and to regulate their distribution, was rejected, |
