On motion by Mr. Smith, Leave was granted to the Senators from Dorchester, Som- erset and Caroline, to introduce a bill to add a sub-section to Public Local Laws of Dorchester county, Article 10, relat- ing to roads. Senate bill entitled an Act for the relief of James S. Mor- sell, Jr., of Calvert county, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Kimmel, Senate bill relating to the Registration of Voters of the State, Was considered, And made the order of the day for to-morrow. House bill entitled an Act to protect clams and shell fish; in Worcester county, Was taken up, and Mr. Hyland offered the following amendments : Strike out section 11, and insert the following in lieu there- of. SEC. 11. And be it enacted. That the taking and carrying away oysters, which shall have been culled and laid out or bedded in any of the waters of this county, with a felonious intent to convert the same to his own use, shall be deemed a felony, and every person guilty of the same, upon convic- tion in a Court of competent jurisdiction shall be deemed guilty of felony, and be sentenced to the penitentiary for not less than two years nor more than five years.
