Hammond, NEGATIVE—Mr. Biggs—1. The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Hyland, Leave of absence was granted to the Senator from Talbot until Tuesday next. On motion by Mr. Welch, The Senate adjourned until to-night at 8 o'clock. EVENING SESSION. FRIDAY, March 20th, 1868. The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Present at roll call : Messrs. President, Browne, Brewer, Carroll, Earle, Hyland, Lee, Miller, Parker, of Calvert, Spates, Snyder, Smith, Walsh—13. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the fol- lowing message: BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, March 20,1868. Gentlemen of the Senate : We respectfully propose with your concurrence, the ap- pointment of a joint select committee of five, two of the Senate and three of the House of Delegates, to whom shall be refer- red the report of the joint committee from the two Houses of the last General Assembly, (House Proceedings 1867, pp. 1072 and 1104,) to meet a similar committee appointed by |
