1868.] OF THE SENATE. 679 Pending the consideration of this bill, On motion by Mr. Fields, It was postponed and made the order of the day for Tues- day, March 24th. House bill entitled an Act to provide for the liquidation and settlement of claims for arming and equipping the militia. Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hyland, Browne, Kimmel, Biggs, Lee, Brewer, Malone, Clarke, Parker, of Calvert, Carroll, Spates, Earle, Snyder, Fields, Walsh, Henkle, Welch—18. NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then returned to the House of Delegates. The House bill re-enacting and amending the Oyster Law, Being the order of the day, Was postponed, and made the order of the day for Tues- day, the 24th of March. On motion by Mr. Snyder, It was ordered, That when the Senate adjourn it stands adjourned until 8 o'clock this evening. On motion by Mr. Clarke, Leave was granted to Messrs. Clarke, Spates, Smith, Lee, and Biggs to introduce a bill to repeal section 2 of an Act passed February 8th, 1866, chapter 46, entitled an Act to authorize the Governor, Comptroller, and Treasurer to con- vey to the United States of America the Government house and grounds belonging to the State, in the city of Annapolis, and to procure other site and buildings in lieu thereof. Senate bill entitled an Act to refund certain sums of money for State taxes erroneously paid into the Treasury of the State by the Society of Redemptorists and by St. Anthony's Orphan Asylum, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as follows: |
