The Senate met pursuant to adjournment.
Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Hildt.
Present at roll call.

Messrs. President, Browne, Brewer, Carroll, Earle, Fields,
Grove, Henkle, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Lee, Miller,
Malone, Parker, of Calvert, Spates. Snyder, Smith, Welch
—19.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered

House bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the
Midlothian Coal and iron Company,

Which was read a first time, and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article
36, of the Code of Public General Lawg, title " Estrays and
Vessels adrift,"

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on the Chesapeake and its tributaries.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the
January session, 1868, entitled an Act to amend the 4th sec-
tion of the Act of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed
at the January session, 1864, chapter 29, entitled an Act to
incorporate the Kent county Railroad Company, passed 8th
day of March, 1856, chapter 148, to add four sections thereto,
and to appoint four new Commissioners in the place of four
deceased Cominissioneirs,

Which was read the first time, ami referred to the Sena-
tors from Kent, Queen Anne's and Somerset.

Also,

House bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Savings In-
stitution of Sandy Spring, Maryland,

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
ittee on Corporations.

Also,

Honse bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact the 167th
section of the 93d Article, of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled Testamentary Law.
