Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 4 and 13 of the Act of Assembly passed at the January session, 1856, chapter 97, entitled an Act to establish and endow an Agri- cultural College in the State of Maryland, and to enact the following sections in lieu thereof, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol- lows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Kimmel, Browne, Miller, Biggs, Malone, Carroll, Parker, of Calvert, Earle, Spates, Fields, Snyder, Henkle, Walsh, Hyland, Welch—18. Hammond, NEGATIVE—None. The bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. Senate bill entitled an Act prohibiting the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors in District No. 2, commonly called Dame's Quarter District, Somerset county, Maryland, Was read a. third time, and rejected by yeas and nays as follows: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Malone, Hyland, Snyder—-5. Hammond, NEGATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Henkle, Biggs, Kimmel, Clarke, Miller, Carroll, Parker, of Calvert, Earle, Spates, Fields, Waisli, Grove, Welch—14. Senate bill entitled an act to refund certain sums of money for State taxes erroneously paid into the Treasury of the State by the Society of the Redemptorists and by St. Anthony's Orphan Asylum, Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. On motion by Mr. Henkle, The Senate adjourned until to-morrow morning at 11 o'clock. |
