The following Report from the Comptroller was received
and read.

TREASURY DEPARTMENT,
COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE,

ANNAPOLIS, March 19th, 1.868.
Hon. Barnes Compton,
President of the Senate:

SIR :—In obedience to the order of your Honorable Body of
the 18th inst., I respectfully submit the following report:

Amount paid General William H. Neilson, as general en-
rolling officer for the months of

November. 1867....................................$150 22
December, 1867..................................... 166 66
January, 1868....................................... 166 66
February, 1868..................................... 16666
March, 1868......................................... 16666

Making a sum total of.............................. $816 86

Amount paid Gen. John S. Berry as acting Inspector Gen-
eral, for the months of December, 1867, and February, 1868,
the sum of.............................................$4,580 00.

All disbursements of the military fund under the Act of
1867, chapter 337, have been made on military warrants,
signed by the Executive of the State as Governor and Com-
mander-in-Chief, countersigned by the Adjutant General.

Several clerks employed in the Adjutant General's office
in Baltimore, have been paid out of this fund, but not know-
ing whether they may be regarded as " officers of militia,"
they are not included in this report.

Mr. Snyder asked and obtained leave of absence for the
Senator from the 3d Legislative District of Baltimore.
