564 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 19, Mr. Kimmell offered the following amendment : Section 5, line 1, bystriking out the words " six thousand. eight hundred," and inserting the words "ten thousand." Mr. Fields offered the following ammendments to the amendment: Section 2, line. 2, strike out " 850" and insert "420." Section 2, line 3, strike out eight dollars per copy, and in- sert six dollars per copy. The amendments were rejected by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Clarke, Malone, Grove, Snyder, Kimmel, Walsh—6. NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Henkle; Brown, Hyland, Biggs, Lee, Brewer, Miller, Carroll, Parker, of Calvert, Earle, Spates, Fields, Welch—14. The question then recurring upon the first amendment, It was determined in the negative by yeas and nays as fol- lows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Browne, Fields, Biggs, Lee, Carroll, Miller—6. NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Kimmel, Brewer, Parker, of Calvert, Clarke, Spates, Earle, Snyder, Grove, Walsh, Henkel, Welch—13. Hyland, The second amendment to the amendment was rejected. Mr. Clarke offered the following amendment: Amend by striking out eight hundred and insert twenty-- four copies, Which was rejected. The bill as amended on the 16th instant was then rejected by yeas and nays as follows : |
