562 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 19, EVENING SESSION. THURSDAY, March 19th, 8 o'clock, P. M The Senate met pursuant to adjournment. Present at roll call, Messrs. President, Browne, Biggs, Brewer, Clarke, Earle, Fields, Hyland, Hammond, Kimmel, Lee, Miller, Parker, of Calvert, Spates, Snyder, Welch—16. The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered House bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act to repeal Arti- cle 63, Code of Public General Laws, relating to militia, and section 652 to 770 both inclusive, of Article 4, Code of Pub- lic General Laws, relating to militia in the city of Baltimore, and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to enact the- following in lieu thereof. Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Militia. Also, House bill entitled an Act to require the Rail Road Com- panies of this State to provide a car or cars for the exclusive use of the colored people of this State, and to amend Article 77, of the Code of Public General Laws of the State, entitled "Rail Roads." Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Internal Improvements. Also, House bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 151, 152, 153 and 154, of the Code of Public Laws, entitled Coroners and Inquests in the city of Baltimore, and to substitute therefor the following. Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators from Baltimore city, Anne Arundel and Somerset counties. Also, House bill entitled an Act to restore to the West Notting- ham Academy, in Cecil county, the annual donation of five hundred dollars out of the school fund, of said county. Which was read the first time and referred to the Com- mittee on Education. |
