Which was read a second time, Also, reported favorably House bill entitled an Act to levy a tax upon all banking institutions doing business in this State in augmentation of the Free School Fund of this State. Which was read the second time. Mr. Spates, from the Committee on Corporations, re- ported Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Delaware Tribe, No. 43, Improved Order of Red Men of Berlin, Fred- erick county, Md. Which was read the first time. Mr. Biggs, from a select committee, reported Senate bill entitled an Act to grant a pension to Hannah Williams, of Baltimore county, widow of John Williams, a soldier of the war of 1812 , Wm. Barnes, of Harford county, John Baublitz and Edward Burnham, both of Baltimore county, and Wm. Heckrotte, of Baltimore city. Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit- tee on Pensions. Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, reported back Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1864, chap- ter 267, providing for a State subscription to Wingate's Mary- land Register, and to re-enact the same with amendments, with the following amendments : Amend section 1, line 3, by striking out the word volume, and insert in lieu of the same the word edition. Amend section 1, line 6, by striking out the word "five," and insert in lieu thereof the word four. Which were adopted, and The bill, as amended, was read a second time.
