Mr. Hammond from the Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries reported House bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act passed 23d March, 1867, chapter 184, entitled an Act to repeal Article 71 of the Code of Public General Laws, of the State of Mary- land, entitled Oysters, and to re-enact the same with amend- ments, and to enact the following in lieu thereof. Which was read the second time, and On motion by Mr. Henkle, Was made the order of the day for Friday the 20th inst. Mr. Earle from the Committee on Finance, reported favor- ably House bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of money therein mentioned to pay John Stevens Sellman, of Anne Arundel county, for his services as an Elector of the Senate of 1836. Which was read the second time, and On motion by Mr. Earle, The rules were suspended by the following vote: AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Browne, Miller, Biggs, Malone, Brewer, Spates, Carroll, Snyder, Earle, Smith, Fields, Walsh, Grove, Welch—17. Henkle, NEGATIVE—Mr. Hyland—1.
