Messrs. President, Hyland, Browne, Hammond, Brewer, Kimmel, Carroll, Lee, Fields, Maddox, Grove, Malone, Henkle, Walsh—14. NEGATIVE. Messrs. Clarke, Snyder, Denson, Smith—5. Earle, And sent to the House of Delegates. On motion by Mr. Hammond, Leave was granted to the Senators from Talbot, Queen Anne's and Caroline, to introduce a bill to authorize the Commissioners of St. Michael's, Talbot county, to appoint a Harbor Master, and regulate his duties and compensation. Mr. Carroll presented a petition signed by several persons, Which was referred to the Committee on Judicial Pro- ceedings. On motion by Mr. Lee, Leave was granted to the Senators from Prince George's, Howard and Cecil, to introduce a bill to provide for a new election district in Prince George's county. Mr. Denson presented a petition from Wm. Heckrotte, of Baltimore city, a soldier of the war of 1812, for a pension. Which was referred to the Committee on Pensions. Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Company to lay a railroad track in certain streets in the city of Baltimore, and to make an appropria- tion for paying the expenses thereof, on account of and for the interest of the tobacco fund, Was read a third time and passed by yeas and nays as fol- lows : |
