498 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 17, Senate bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the Register of Wills for Worcester county to grant orders of sale in the recess of the Orphans' Court, Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading. Senate bill entitled an Act to add an additional Article to the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, to be entitled Commission Merchants, relative to their responsibilities for boxes, bags, baskets, chests and barrels in which fruit or vegetables may be sent to them, Being under consideration, Mr. Walsh offered the following amendment : Additional section 4. And be it enacted. That all dealers of milk in the city of Baltimore shall be liable to the provisions of this bill as re- gards the return of the cans in which they receive milk from the parties supplying them with the same. Which was adopted. Pending the consideration of this bill, The President announced the order of this day. Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the 27th section of Article 387, Public General Laws of Maryland, by adding thereto the following sections increasing Sheriffs' fees of the several counties of the State. Which was rejected by yeas and nays as follows : AFFIRMATIVE. Messrs. Clarke, Kimmel, Carroll, Maddox, Denson, Snyder, Grove, Walsh—9. Henkle, NEGATIVE. Messrs. President, Hammond, Browne, Lee, Brewer, Malone, Earle, Smith, Fields, Welch—11. Hyland, Mr. Clarke gave notice that he would move a reconsidera- tion of the above vote at some future time.
