same applies to Washington county.

Amend by adding section 240, and striking out the numbers
240, and make the same to read as section 218.

Amend after the word Steamboat, in 4th line of section
218, by adding the words "when such Steamships or Steam-
boats."

Amend section 241 80 as to make the same read as section
219.

Which were adopted.

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 4 and 13 of
the Act of Assembly, passed at the January session, 1856,
chapter 97, entitled an Act to establish and endow an Agri-
cultural College in the State of Maryland, and to enact the
following sections in lieu thereof,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Mr. Clarke offered the following amendments :

Section 108, after the word "road," in the first line, in-
sert, or Passenger Railway.

Also, in the 11th line of the same section, after the word
"constructed," insert, then as to such turnpike or plank
road.

Also, in the 16th line of the same section, after the word
"road," insert or Passenger Railway.

Also, in the 17th line of the same section, after the word
"mile," insert, of any turnpike or plank road.

Section 109, after the word "corporation," in the first
line, insert, of any such turnpike or plank road.

Page 10, section 36, 2d line, after the word "company's,
insert the following:

"And, for the formation of Passenger Railway Companies
outside of the limits of the city of Baltimore, not to exceed
12 miles in length."

Page 42, section 107, after the word "roads," in the first
line, insert the following :

"Or Passenger Railways outside of the limits of the city
of Baltimore, and not exceeding 12 miles inlength for any-
one road."

Also, after the word "roads," in the 2d line of the same-
section, insert, or passenger railways.

Also, after the word "road," in the 9th line of the same-
section, insert, or passenger railway.
